Our Reviews

All the trim work and cleanup was completed very efficiently and as scheduled

Absolutely Love this Team! We've been using Columbia Tree & Lawn for over a decade at both our old and new home, and we don't trust anyone else.Their #1 goal is to *not* kill good trees. They take great care with pruning and trimming (they don't just "top off" trees like a lot of places, which inevitably kills the whole tree). And the real kicker is when they trimmed up a tall tree for us, they did so in a way that if it ever did fall, it would fall in a specific place. Sure enough, a few years later during a tornado the tree fell over, and it landed exactly where they intended it to, avoiding all the houses and cars. So yeah, they remain my go-to tree service.

Very professional, trimmed up two trees at a reasonable price. Highly recommend.

First and foremost, communication was great, and this is the key to getting things done right. Second, the job was planned out in advance by a live specialist. The crew who did the work were remarkably professional, personable, and very quiet. The job looks exactly as described in the plan, and all is well. Other than some unavoidable delays due to weather and mechanical failure, neither of which can be predicted, this went without a hitch. A very happy experience!

What do you do when a tree comes down and bamboo is spreading thru your yard? My neighbor and I called on Columbia Tree and Lawn Service. My neighbor had done the research and found that this was the only nearby bamboo removal service that customers said that the bamboo did not return. See the picture of the mess we had. When we received the estimated cost it seemed to be a lot. But they were to dig up every bamboo root and follow and remove every ryzone. It took them 3 weeks to do our and neighbor's yard. Filled a 30 yard huge dump container with tree, root, bamboo and debris. Workers named Brian and Minor were here every non rainy day. They were so courteous and attentive to detail, working in the sweltering heat. They kept us informed of the progress and plans for the next couple of days. Once complete they smoothed out the yard and planted grass.Look at my yard now! Clear and growing green!

Great work. Showed up quick for the estimate and scheduled the work in a reasonable time frame. Easy to work with and fair. I'll hire them again for my next job.

We used Chuck about 3 years to do bamboo remediation in our yard. We were skeptical given how aggressive bamboo is and we had tons. Chuck is an a seasoned pro at this, he came out, gave us a plan and went to it. 3 years later and we have not had one piece of bamboo grow back!

Excellent job removing a large tree. They grounded the stump and covered area with top soil. They worked very hard and charged a fair price. Friendly to deal with also.

The assisted us with snow removal and did an outstanding job at a reasonable price.

I am so glad I went with Columbia Tree & Lawn Service for our tree removal. Chuck was a pleasure to talk to and receive a quote from, he checked out a few other trees and said only the one needs to come down, so I feel I can trust him. The price was fair too. During the removal, everyone was very professional, there was no damage, and they went out of their way to make sure our garden lights, rock wall, and pavers were all safe. They also made sure I was happy with the service and got the stump exactly how I wanted it. Cleanup was quick and thorough too, I'm very happy with them and will be recommending them to everyone!

Columbia Tree and Lawn Service did good work at a good price. Chuck, Lisa, and field crew were great to work with.

Charles and his team did an amazing job! We have a corner townhouse with a 45° HOA slope that drains rain water directly to the side of our house. After pointless arguments back and forth I am so glad I finally just handled the job personally. They re-engineered the slope, yard, and higher elevation points to work with the topography. It’s a brilliant design that adds an aesthetically pleasing and organic look to the space. Charles and his team were thorough in their planning (calling 811 and handing buried utilities, marked problem spots I missed and gave advice on future considerations).Looking forward to working with them in the future ⭐️

Had our Bradford Pear trimmed back. This is the second time Columbia Tree and Lawn have trimmed it and each time was totally pleased. Crew was friendly, efficient and did a great job. Area was cleaned before they left. Highly recommended

These guys are tearing it up. I had a yard overrun with bamboo and Chuck and his guys are making that problem go away.

RE: Bamboo > Save yourself money, time, and frustration by calling Columbia Tree & Lawn Service to get rid of bamboo. Bamboo took over my neighbors backyard here in Bowie MD and it started coming into my yard. So I went online and had 8 or 9 vendors recommended by well-known internet websites call/email within a day or so. I had most of them come by. They talked a good game, their prices were suspiciously low, and not one of them had a plan to deal with the bamboo roots (called rhizomes). These roots can be 2 feet down and reach out 15 feet or more from the nearest stalk of bamboo (miss 1 root and it all grows back). So I gave up on the internet referrals and hired Chuck at CT&LS. His references checked out and he was the only guy who had actual working knowledge of bamboo. The really nice thing was that when the work was underway I wandered outside to look and Chuck took time to explain exactly what he was doing and how he was ferreting out the bamboo roots with his big digging machine. Only then did it dawn on me that if I hired one of the internet referrals I would have spent THOUSANDS and made the bamboo problem WORSE. I’m so overjoyed with the results that I told Chuck to have any customer who is on the fence about hiring him or who thinks his price is too high to contact me so I can invite them to look at my backyard and then across the fence at the bamboo still growing in my neighbor’s yard (they got a “lower price” from some other company).

I've made numerous attempts to entice tree service providers to come out and remove some major limbs and two smaller trees. 1 kept ghosting me, and 2 never replied. Columbia Tree arrived the same day I called with a price, and they finished the job the following day!

Chuck and his crew (including the office staff) are always who I turn to for any kind of tree work. Professional, on time, and good prices. 1st class operation!! Tim Malarkey

I was very impressed with the professionalism and overall service from Columbia Tree and Lawn. They were very quick with coming out for a quote and they were very straight forward and the price was competitive and reasonable. They were very flexible to meet my needs breaking the job up into two parts by getting my downed branch taken care of right away and giving me time to figure out what I wanted to do with the rest of the tree. They didn't charge me extra for breaking up the job with two separate quotes which was greatly appreciated. They came out when they said they would and did a great job of removing the branch and later the tree. I would highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to call them again for any future needs.

Very happy with the service!!! I had a large tree limb come down in our backyard due to a storm and they were very quick to get me an estimate and even scheduled the work for a Sunday! The guys worked quickly and efficiently and clear all the excess debris. I would definitely hire them again and I highly recommend them!

Chuck and his team were excellent. Four trees were cleaned up for us. Everyone was courteous and patient with me as I went through everything. My driveway and yard were left spotless, and my trees look fantastic. To anyone, I would heartily suggest them!

It was necessary to cut a few trees and remove the stumps from a few more. Columbia Tree was prompt (and amiable) in scheduling us and coming out for an estimate. The crew went above and beyond to ensure the job was done right, and they were efficient and friendly. The subsequent cleanup was just as remarkable.

Three trees and numerous hazardous branches were expertly removed from our property by Columbia Tree & Lawn. They kept us updated on the day of service and promptly supplied an itemized cost for the job. The tree removal was completed quickly and expertly by the four-person crew. Our other crops were shielded from possible harm by the workers. Since the work was completed, there were no surprises.

The response was very quick and the service was good too.

Thorough, inventive, and overall all about the client. They have all the equipment needed to get it done. The price was very fair for the work done. And, they did a couple items on-demand at a reasonable price. Thanks to the Team that did Spruce Way, Ellicott City 6/2/25 !!!

Very pleased with my experience with Columbia tree and lawn! They did a great job removing two dead trees from my yard. I definitely recommend!

The company took care of trimming our trees on time a d cleaned up all the debris. They were very professional, and I would not hesitate to use them again.

Very thorough and prompt. Great service

Had some tree pruning/triming done. They came out and gave an easy to understand explanation of their process and I shared some thoughts I had to ensure the trees were not over trimmed since they provide great privacy for our townhouse. Chuck and company listened to my input and they did a great job of pruning and trimming as needed without cutting to much off. I would recommend them to anyone checking reviews. Good communications and timely.

Excellent service and would use them for any future tree or landscaping needs!!

Columbia Tree & Lawn provided a detailed estimate and then did all the work promised. There was a small delay getting scheduled because they are very busy with limited office staff. But they do respond to messages and everyone I encountered was friendly and very professional. Their rates are relatively high, but I needed both tree service and some serious weeding for my neglected yard. Since they have experts for everything, I think it was well worth the cost. I will likely use them again.

Thank you for all your help and advice on how to handle our Bamboo concerns. We value your 40+ years of experience, with this crazy growing plant that is taking over the lot. Thanks, Chuck for keeping it real in your own truthful way.

Great service and responsive. We called and inspection was next day to review and schedule. Work performed that weekend. Trimmed three trees in our backyard which were starting to grow over our deck. Very helpful to make our backyard feel more open.

We had a beloved tree that needed to be removed. The crew that came out werr very kind and knowledgable. They explained the steps they would be doing to remove our tree, and reassured me that it was the best choice. I had compared prices with other companies, and Chuck came in about the same. I went with this company because i like supporting local companies. Thank you again.

We used Chuck and his team for bamboo removal in our backyard, along with taking multiple trees down and ripping up flower beds around our house. We bought a house without knowing how invasive bamboo really is and we were so glad when we found Chuck. He talked us through how his team would remove the bamboo and we felt more at ease. Now we have a beautiful backyard thanks to Chuck, Brian, and co.

Amazing service at a price that simply cannot be surpassed! These guys went above and beyond and quickly and properly cleaned the treed area in my backyard. The majority of businesses would have canceled on a day like today, but they even came in the rain! Thank you Columbia Tree & Lawn Service; I will certainly speak highly of and utilize your services again.Once again thank you so much!!!!!!!

Excellent service and customer interaction. I sort of paid for it, but it was worth it.

I used Columbia Tree & Lawn Service for the first time 2 weeks ago. The crew arrived on time and did a superior job trimming all trees and shrubs. They worked continuously until everything was done and were extremely courteous.

I recommend Columbia Tree & Lawn to everyone for their landscaping needs. They came out to trim my trees and they did a wonderful job. Their climber, Josh, is clearly very knowledgeable. I was in awe at how well he was able to maneuver the chainsaw up in the air given the position of the trees. It is no easy job that these guys are doing, but they do it well!
